OC Challenge 16: Famous Work of Art

CONTEST THEME: Famous Art Work! - Draw one or more of your original characters as part of a famous work of art. (theme suggested by anqila)

RULES & FAQ

What Can I Do For My Entry?: Create a deviation with your original character(s) (no fan art or fan characters) in a famous work of art! These are works you'd find in a museum or art history text book. An example would be to draw your OC as the Mona Lisa or Venus de Milo! You can even add you character into Vincent van Gogh's Starry Night! BE CREATIVE!

Do I Need To Link To The Original Work?: Yes, always link to the original creation and give credit to the original artist.

How Many Entries Can I Submit?: You can submit up to two entries! No more than two! It gives you a better chance of winning if you do! But you can only win with one entry.

What Art Mediums/Types Do You Accept?: We accept all forms of art (digital, traditional, photography, literature, photomanipulation, etc) that can fit the theme as long as the subject of the work is YOUR original character. Please, no images of still-life objects, yourself, friends, and family. We also do not accept fan art.

Can I Submit Sketches And/Or Uncolored Works?: All entries must be FINISHED WORKS! No unfinished sketches, please. All pencil works must have complete shading.

Do You Accept Collaborations? Can A Friend Color My Lines And That Be My Entry?: No, we want the works to be completely that of the artist and not a collab effort. The only exceptions are when using stock resources that the artist has permission to use. This usually covers textures and brushes. The reason for not wanting collaborations is that this is a community meant to challenge the artist, so we wish for the participants to try to step out of their comfort zones and try new things in order to improve.

What Kind Of OCs Do You Accept? Fan Characters? Anthro? Humanoid?: We accept ALL original characters except for Fan Characters for Official Works! Human and Non-Human (ex: Animals, Anthro, Aliens, etc)!

Can I Submit Still-Life Works Or Art Of Just Nature?: Again, no still-life objects or things like plants as your main subject unless they are Anthro or given personification in some way. (Example: Characters similar to those from the animation "The Brave Little Toaster" would be okay. A picture of a flower in a vase without any human characteristics would NOT be okay.)

Is There A Limit To The Number Of Characters In An Image?: You can have as many OCs in your entry as you would like.

Can I Draw My Friends' OCs?:Yes, as long as they are not the main focus of the image. We want your OCs to be main characters in your entries.

Can I Create A New Character For The Challenge?: Yes, you can create a new OC for the challenge if it will be easier on you to do so, but do try to challenge yourself by using OCs you already have.

Can I Cosplay My Character If It Fits The Theme?: Yes, just be sure to state that is what you're doing in the deviation's description to prevent any confusion.

Can I Draw Comics For My Entry?: Yes, you can do comics with your original characters for the challenge. Just be sure you're only using your originals and there is no fan art from official works. If the comic is more than two pages, please only post the first page and link to the other pages in the art description.

Can I Use Brushes And Stock Images?: You can use brushes and other stock imagery as long as you credit the sources and have permission to use the stock.

Does My Work Need To Follow deviantART Policies?: Definitely yes! Please keep to dA policies with your picture. Anything that's not allowed on dA is not allowed in this contest.

Can I Draw My Characters In Sexual Situations?: We do not allow mature content. If your work requires a mature content tag, please do not submit it. Not sure what we mean by mature content? Please read this short blog: oc-challenge.deviantart.com/bl…

Can I Draw My Characters In Violent Situations?: In regards to mature content, minor to medium violence is allowed in the contest. Let's just not have a gore fest like spilled bowels and what not.

Does My Entry Have To Be New?: Entries must not be older than January 30th, 2013. New entries only. This means you cannot submit entries to the challenge that you created before January 30th, 2013.

Do I Need To Add Anything Extra To My Art Description For The Challenge?: In your art description, please include a link to the Challenge and Community.

Where Do I Submit My Entry?: When submitting your art, please submit it to the "Challenge 16 - Famous Art Work" gallery folder.

I Have A Question That Has Not Yet Been Answered!: If you have any questions at all, feel free to ask, but make sure that it definitely hasn't already been answered in some way, please!
